Forklift Operators

We are currently seeking a reliable and hard-working Forklift Operators/Storeperson to join our client in the Steel Industry based in Dandenong South.

Our client is a well-established Australian manufacturer and distributor of steel building products, long steel, sheet, and coil, with over 20 years of industry experience. They are specialists in all things steel and steel accessories

Location: Dandenong South

Hours: Monday to Friday - long term temp to perm opportunity

Day shift 06:00 - 14:00

Afternoon Shift 14:00 - 22:00

Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

• Safe and efficient operation of a forklift 3T, 5T & 12T (loading and unloading steel products)
• Unloading trucks
• Stripping Steel Coils
• Using a C-hook crane to load machines – previous experience preferred
• Using a computer to book in material that arrives – previous (not high level – just basic skills) computer experience preferred
• Using a scan gun to locate coils
• Working as a team with the other coil bay store person to work efficiently
• Performing general warehouse duties
• Picking and Packing orders
• Using a Vacuum lifter
• Using a pallet rotator

About You:

• Physically Fit with no injuries
• Able to Lift and work manually, some heavy lifting but mainly everything is moved with equipment
• Strong Warehousing / Stores experience in similar industry (steel, aluminium, cardboard, paper)
• Forklift Licence is Required - Experienced in Counterbalance 3T-12T forklift experience preferred
• High regard for Safety onsite
• Overhead Crane operating experience is advantageous but they will train (no licence required)

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test and Police Check
